How it all started

Edwin first introduced me to reselling clothes in the beginning of 2017 and I completely became obsessed. We each created our own accounts on Poshmark and Mercari, but we recently decided to create a joint account on eBay.
The first several weeks on Posh and Merc, were so dreadful and slow. It took about 1 week for me to sell my first item, but as time went by, more items were selling faster than I could list! I first listed some items from my own personal closet but felt that it lacked quantity and variety. So I began to thrift at my local Goodwill and was shocked to find contemporary and designer brands for under ten dollars. Since it was also the beginning of the year, several department stores were also having "after holiday" sales, so I was able to find lots of items for super cheap! I shopped (and still do) at Marshalls and TJMaxx where they carry brands such as Tory Burch, Free People, kate spade and many more. To bring attention and success to my closet on Poshmark, I would follow hundreds of people and share several items from their closets in hopes that they would return the favor(it really works)!Although we each found success in using both Posh and Merc, we still wanted to go another level.
We were both skeptical about using eBay as we both had no clue how it worked. After nights of watching YouTube videos about eBay, we finally decided to open up, but there was still one catch. The majority of eBay customers are looking to find the best deal and there were many others selling similar items for a very low price. We couldn't find profitable merchandise to sell for cheap. I snooped around on Instagram and found out that Goodwill had "outlet" stores where they sell used clothes for under two dollars per pound. JACKPOT! One of our best "flip" was an incomplete set of books that we purchased for $30 and sold for more than $400! We now get about 75 percent of our inventory from the Goodwill outlet stores and the rest come from discount stores such as TJMaxx, and Marshalls.
We are still growing and learning along the way. We are excited to document our journey and hope we can help out other people who are new to this.
